The city of Glasgow is the largest of all Scottish cities

The city of Glasgow is the largest city in all of Scotland and is also the city with among the three largest populations throughout the United Kingdom. Situated near the Clyde River and the central lowlands in the west of Scotland. Anyone who hails from this town is referred to as Glasgow and this term also refers to a local Scottish dialect.

The city of Glasgow grew more important during the tenth and eleventh centuries under the care of King David I who was a Scottish king and also under the care of John who was Bishop of Glasgows. In fact the city is also famous for having religious sites that were founded in the sixth century.

Over time, the city grew larger and in the fifteenth century the University of Glasgow was founded and the city was promoted from being a bishop to an archbishop which gave the city more importance in terms of its educational status and religion .

Although Glasgow is set at the same latitude as Moscow the climate it enjoys is more Oceanic and the spring time here is mild and quite pleasant. The city is centered around Glasgow Cathedral and its old High Street around which the city center is located. Moreover, the city has its own retail district as well as the theater, and there is also a commercial town that lies on the east side of the city.

To the west lies the financial district which occupies areas known as Anderston and Blythswood Hill. The West End of Glasgow is known for being bohemian and has many caf├ęs as well as tea rooms and bars, as well as upscale boutiques and hotels, as well as clubs and even restaurants.

Places of interest include the Glasgow Botanic Gardens and then there is the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Center.
